On his retirement Brigadier Cosby returned to property he had inherited in Alderney, Channel Islands. He met Margaret Bunting, they married. My mother arrived in Alderney to take up a position in the Animal welfare Centre, founded and run by Brigadier Cosby and Margaret. The documents and photographs are here because of my Mother’s friendship with Margaret. They primarily document the last years of British rule in India, specifically the duties undertaken in the North West Frontier Province where Brigadier Cosby was Inspector General.
